An introduction to EdistoTech.com
Musings of an ex technophobe.
Easy. Easy like Sunday morning
Hey there — I’m Will.
I live on Edisto Island, South Carolina, the lowest part of The Lowcountry, where the internet can be spotty, the soil is sandy, and the tech help is usually an hour late or a hundred bucks too much. That’s where I come in.
I’ve worked in IT for decades, and while I’m “retired,” I’m not done solving problems, tinkering with gear, or helping people make sense of it all. I started EdistoTech several years ago to offer locals tech support, setup help, and a dose of calm when things went sideways. Now, I’m reviving that effort — and this time, with a newsletter.
Here’s what you can expect:
Tech tips written for real people, not engineers
Your tech questions answered. I live and breathe Microsoft, Apple and all the other tech giants and the up and comers.
Advice for keeping your digital life tidy (and maybe safer)
Gear reviews and recommendations with plain-English verdicts
If you’re looking for enterprise cloud architecture diagrams, wrong place.
But if you want to know whether that $89 router from Amazon is worth a darn — or if you're just tech-curious and want to learn without the jargon — stick around.
You don’t have to be on Edisto to read this. But if you’ve ever yelled at a printer or wished your Wi-Fi had manners, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for reading,
Will

I've yelled at my computer and printer on occasion so I will stick around 😄. Technology can be overwhelming, thank you for your help in making it easier.
